"With junior ambassadors against doping"

Slovenian anti-doping organization is preparing an educational program for all young athletes who are included in the 1st year of secondary schools and gymnasiums with sport departments in Slovenia in the school year 2012/2013.
Educational program with which we started in the school year 2011/2012 in the context of the European project EADIn, was in last school year attended by a total of 1172 students from 14 secondary schools and gymnasiums. Good work and, in particular, the positive responses by the athletes, their sports co-ordinators and principals give us motivation to continue education in this school year.
The aim of education is to warn young athletes about the dangers of doping, to teach them to have confidence in their own abilities, to be fair and model to other athletes, and to say no to doping if anyone offers it to them.
Educational program, which is supposed to take two school hours, will consist of a theoretical part, where we presented to young athletes the fight against doping and the practical part in the form of workshops on the theme of doping, in which young athletes with the help of anti-doping ambassadors will actively participated, discuss a specific topic, and at the end present their arguments.
In addition to the education of young athletes informational materials will be available, and will also hang the poster about the dangers of doping in a prominent position in school so that you can look at other students. The young athletes will have the possibility to sign a public pledge, with which they will be promise to the training and compete without doping and so become part of the generation of Slovenian athletes, which are not using prohibited substances.
With the education of young athletes in the sports sections of the secondary schools and gymnasiums fields would like to expand the circle of Slovenian athletes, who are educated in the field of doping and are aware of the consequences of taking banned substances and procedures.

EADIn project "With junior ambassadors against doping"

Slovenian Olympic Committee – anti-doping department started together with our junior anti-doping ambassadors educational project named »With junior ambassadors against doping« in this school year. The purpose of the project is to educate high school athletes about fight against doping, dangers of doping and give the athletes basic information about doping control process and the List of prohibited substances and methods. In Slovenia we have around 20 high schools with special departments for athletes and our plan is to visit them all until the end of January (all together we expect to educate around 1.500 athletes age 14-18).
Jounior ambassador are educating athletes with methodology of presentation and workshops, which turned out to be a perfect combination. We are getting only excellent feedbacks and we are hoping that our lectures will help creating a generation of young athletes, who will train and compete without using prohibited substances or methods.
